Driving lights - Cibie or Narva?

I have a set of IPF spot/driving lights that have been through a lot, they are good quality, but the IPF fog lights I also have are the best quality lights I have seen, with solid stainless brackets and bolts. Why the spots don't have the same is beyond me, given they cost more.
I used cheaper ones before on my older Land Rovers and they were OK but were only plastic, and didn't like knocks or vibration.

I have a set of narva 200mm lights. They were made in europe, not asia. They seem to be fine, but then I try and avoid driving at night and haven't done many k's with the car.

Purchased my first set of Super Oscars in 1974 and still have them on the Discovery. Have been on four of my 4 x 4s and never missed a beat. Replaced one reflector in 2005 due to stone damage. Purchased a set of Oscars for the roof rack a few years ago and am as pleased with these as with the Super Oscars on the bull bar. Great lights!

Sorry about delay in replying everyone. I've been hard at it on the Disco finding things to fix.

I bought the Cibies this morning and fitted them tonight. Then I found the second battery was nearly flat (the lights are powered from the second battery).

The new UHF CB radio I installed yesterday is draining the second battery. It's drawing current even when switched off. (Have I told you about my ability to buy faulty goods? Oh, I also bought a set of spanners for the car today. When I unwrapped them, one was missing.

)

Greg, I'll be in Derby from the 7th. I'll definitely look you up. I love choppers - I used to fly model ones (many moons ago) and I've always wanted to get a licence for the real thing. One day - maybe.

We plan to fly over the Bungle Bungles by heli when we get to Turkey Creek.

Oh, that means there will bne three members of this forum in Derby at the same time, you, me, and KhunMoo (who lives there).

not many spanner sets have all the sizes in them......
they usually skip 15mm and 16mm......

True - but this one had an empty pocket for a spanner - and the number of spanners was the stated quantity minus 1. When I returned it for exchange, the replacement set had a spanner in that pocket.

i would of expected the replacement set to have 2 spanners in that pocket......

reminds me of the guy in a seafood restaurant.......
" waiter.....this lobster only has one claw.....!!".....

to which the waiter then replies......"so it does....it must have been in a fight sir....."

the customer the says to the waiter......"in that case....bring me the winner instead....!!
