    Disco TD5 noisy drive belt

I experienced a minor problem a few months ago where I lost two belts in a row due to the tensioner pulley bearing seizing (something to do with Toolangi mud - lost the alternator as well) That is now fixed but since then, especially first thing, I get a noise similar to an adjuster pulley being loose and rattling back and forth. I am wondering about things like 'a/c clutch gone' or 'the crank damper gone'. How do I check either of these without having to dismantle the whole front of the engine?

Well if it is the a/c clutch not well, it would likely rattle with a little hand pressure, or when you run the a/c you will be able to hear it, and possibly see the problem

    Crank damper - haven't a clue - sorry
