MUD seat rails for Defender MY03

Wondered if anybody has had any experience of these:

Im just thinking that with the bar (dont know the technical term for them - are they an ADR thing?), directly behind the seats in my 90 these will be of no use.

the bar behind the seats in the 90 is a strengthening bar, because the body is weaker with the bulkhead that used to be there on earlier defenders has been removed.

you get more movement on the seat because it lifts the seat about 30mm giving you more movement backwards..

I can't comment on the 90 (the one I saw a few years back had the same seat box as a 110, so I don't know about this bar thingy) but I had a County 110 with similar seat rails - you sit higher, which feels strange when looking to the right (you can see down but not up out the side window) and the extra footroom made no difference to me (to quote the Levi's ad - do you fit the Legend? - I do).

The idea is really simple - you raise the rails above the level of the lip at the back of the seat box, and run them further back. It also tips the seat forward slightly which I could have done without.

If the bar on the 90 is the same as that in a Series wagon you'll get no extra room unless you remove the barl. People remove them all the time, I've never heard of a bad result, but there is supposedly some reduction in lateral strength.

dave(xsi)these dont allow the seat in your 90 to go further back ,( well the may abit but the seat back would be in an uncomfortable forward position.)
what they do is lift the seat 30mm to straighten your legs abit!

been gonna make some for my 90 to see what differance it makes..

    pm me??

    cheers phil
