Thread: broken alternator mount

Don't you hate it fix one problem find another. Just had radiator leak fixed picked up rad fill up with coolant let get up to temp all good no leaks job done then noticed gee my alternator seems to be vibrating more than it should culprit cracked down where it bolts on the head. Is this a bastard job or not to bad. 86 Rangie by the way.

I had to weld mine up a couple of years ago. From memory, it cracked around one of the bolt holes - after I welded up the crack, I welded a thick washer on top to reinforce it.

It's not too hard a job but you'll need to remove it from the car.
