Toyo owners constantley criticise landy oil leaks BUT !!!.

Have had many Jap 4by owners rubbish the landys in regard to their renowned oil leaks, But over the last couple of years i have taken particular notice to the front swivel joints on toyos with around 200.000ks indicated, and every one of them has had leaking seals , actually most of them needing attention right away!. My defender has 185000ks up and is bone dry!, in that area. ( probably no oil left in them) , Nah just better built, and the defender dosen't blow clouds of black smoke towing a load uphill, unlike a lot of jap crap iv'e seen lately. Pick on Toyo day for me. Have had the landy bagged out all week .

Most of the guys who do the talking have never seen the underside of a landrover, and more than likely the only people to see the undersides of their trucks is the dealers they take them to to fix them! I've owned 3 toyotas, and yes they do leak. My work vehicle is a 3 year old 4WD hilux, and the gearbox is covered in oil, which blows back onto the exhaust. My 110 is bone dry from one end to the other, but yes they still go on about leaky landrovers. If it starts to leak, replace the seal, it's not rocket science, just maintenence.

I think dave has hit the nail on the head, as far as the nissan goes , for resale, there have been a few patrols for sale in town in the past month or so, we all know the respectable markups they put on used cars, 200% plus and no apologies to anybody who comes on and tries to tell me they are an 'honest' dealer.....I have been lied to by every dealer I have done business with.
Anyway the average price has been $5,000, and these are good looking vehs. compared to the prices def and disco prices about the same area,
    so who is overengineered???
