Truspeed speedo corrector
Put the smaller tyres back on the car
Have a Disco 1 and with the 265's the speedo is out. Any ideas on how to recalibrate it? Marks adapters have a speedo match box but its $175 any other ideas?

Yes they do. Its a good way of checking your speedo.

I fitted the Truspeed unit and it is excellent - cost just over the $200 mark from memory but it allows me to run 2 set of tyres (i only run one just now) and is incredibly accurate once fitted and calibrated against a GPS speedo.......worth it IMO as I hate not knowing what speed i'm doing.
Aye, Mick
P.S. I tried another way to get round paying thr $ but no other way in my D2.
Truspeeds are for electronic speedos, and I'm pretty sure the D1 has a mechanical drive.
GPS's do have speedos in them, but you can't use them as a primary speed device according to the RTA because they dont work in all conditions.
but... I don't know the answer to your question.![]()

Hi lowbox,
Long time no hear.
265s are about a 32" tyre aren't they? All I did with my old Disco was fit a Defender speedo drive.

If you don't mind a bit of soldering, Jaycar sell a Speedo Corrector kit for $49.95 and a Digital Speedo / Speed Alert for $64.95

From 95 on I know they are electronic via a speed sensor on the LH side of the transfer case, not sure about before that though.
