    ABS problem

    hi all,
well the ABS pump on the disco wont turn off when the the ignition is turned off. This it not the first time I have had this problem, the last time it happened was about 2 yrs ago. I used to have to unplug the ABS when I stopped the vehicle, this lasted for about 4 days and then it was ok again.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to fix it. I just had the brakes done (new pads and new brake fluid) so I don't know if that has caused the problem. I'm hoping it will fix itself again, so any help would be appreciated.

Check the ABS pump relay, it may be sticking.

    2nd the relay diagnosis.
I'd get it fixed rather than waiting for a self fix again. If the pump continues running when you're not there, it will soon burn out.

Thanks fellas, you were 99.9% right it was the relay but it had actually come loose. I just gave it a wiggle and it was fine. I'm still going to buy a spare, got a quote from land rover of $67 for the black relay and $32 for the green one, but I'm sure if I shop around I'll get them cheaper.

    thanks again
