    possible wheel alignment problem

I seem to have a problem with tyre scrub on the outside edges of the tyres. Should I take it down to have it aligned again, or do you think there could be other factors involved with the strange wear pattern?

    Thanks guys, jimbo110.

    Dear Worried about tyre wear.

Yes, I think your problem stems from storing ALL your off-road gear on the Offside. Try balancing the storage evenly across the vehicle.

This happens when some dumb*ss tyre worker puts toe IN on the front instead of toe OUT.
Check it with a tape measure yourself. It it is closer from the front of the wheel to the other front than from the back to the back, it is wrong.

yes, for an outside edge scrub PhillipA is right (in my experience) - if a tape measure is difficult to use, try a piece of dowel shortened to the distance between the inside edge of each rim, try front and rear distances between the rims - this will give a good indication of toe-in (which should be toe-out).

The LHS ones look fine, just swap em over. If you are well versed in the art of making one set of undies last 4 days then apply the same principle to your tyres.

Id say its more of an inflation problem...

the right hand side tyres have more bulge at the bottom giving them a larger contact patch that is not correctly shaped due to the lower pressure.

See how the left hand ones are all nicely round..

I suggest adjusting the tyre pressures..

Of course in this situation, to even out the wear you should put the wheels on backwards, and ensure that you go both clockwise and anticlockwise .

In conclusion a series of burnouts , to the left and right will also help.To achieve this you will need gas , nitrous, and another engine in the back.
