Thread: Reverse light for Defender

Had the same problem, although in a 95 Disco, the switch came off from on the top of the gearbox, put switch back on...it goes ( well Coopers put it back on for me ), check on top of the gearbox from the passengers side, never know, might be the same thing..

Left hand side of the gearbox.

It uses the same fuse as the side lights.

I use a Defender reverse light as a marker light on my sidecar and have had numerous problems with it going out. I stuffed around with bulbs, squeezed the globe holder to make better contact and rubbing the back of the globe to do the same. The thing that fixed it after lots of aggro was to scrape the contact that pushes on the back of the globe as this had corrosion on it. The light now works all the time.

Looks like I'll have to crawl under the beast again. Might have broken it when I had the stick break my speedo sender on the Talarook trip.

Might wait until it stops raining though.
