    Talking New Member

    Hello all,

I'm a new member and I thought I would introduce myself (Wish I knew about this site when I owned my 2A. The advice given out would have been great)

I call my self 22HUP, no I'm not Americian, nor do I follow Gid Iron. I own a 1922 Hupmobile. More importantly I also own a 2000 Td5 defender 130 Dual cab with all the mod cons ( that a Defender has anyway).

Prior to this I had a IIA long wheel base with interesting springs. Some one had added 4 extra leaves to the original pack front and rear. The extra leaves were much thicker then the rover ones and looked like a 4 year old had cut them out of tank armour using a axe. No body roll though, if fact the thing didn't move an inch no matter what it hit.

Prior to this I used to drive dads lovely green series III shorty around. I think this is where I got the Land rover bug, (that I just can't seem to shake) from.

Any way I will seek my first bit of wisdom from you kind people. I need to replace my shocks. So I thought I would upgrade the springs as well. Currentley the front springs are standard. The rear springs normally have inner and outers. The inner springs have been taken out and replaced with poly air bags.

I want to set up mainly a tourer, however I like to take into the ruff every now and again. I would also like to lift her up a little. ANY IDEAS. . Any way enough on the War and Peace intro now.

PS. If your truck has carpet and you can call it a "Disco" Is that really a truck. Any how enough bagging the "Disco" drivers, Im certain they get enough of that out on the road, Thankyou for reading

Defender drivers need to talk it up like that as they are lacking in a few 'other' areas.

    Welcome to AULRO

The defender owner in me says "welcome", the Discovery owner part of me has just gone to get a beer and contemplate a witty reply.

Some of you Disco drivers out there seem a little touchie about the subject. Perhaps deep down you know you would rather own a mighty Defender.

And carpet in a defender Oh my God, what next, you'll be saying you drove a Nissan..or yuk..even...a...ah I can't get my fingers to type the words...a...a TOYOTA...oh god I feel so dirty. I'm off the wash my hands
