    LSX-90 in transfer case

I had our 05 fender in for it's second yearly service yesterday. Despite me supplying syntrax for the transfer case, it would appear that they have put LSX-90 that I intended for the diffs in.

Will this be ok? I presume they wouldn't have done it if they were worried about it, but is it optimal?

DO NOT put Syntrans in the transfer box! It is not heavy enough. If you want to change it use Syntrax 80-90 or leave the LSX 90 in. It is OK except that it has the additives for LS diffs in it, which you don't need for a transfer. It won't do any harm, though.

    Cheers,

Tech info states for the Defender T/case 75w/90r for most temp ranges.

For LT230T in Discovery 75/85 through to 90ep can be used.

    P38 transfer - ATF

    LT95 - engine oil.

    B/warner transfer - ATF

I cant see why syntrans or similar 75/85 or Castrol Transmax cant be used. I use the Castrol version in the LT230 and R380 with a turbo Isuzu driving it and have had no problems with them.

If you were using the vehicle in very hot conditions and towing I would assume the 90ep would be the go in the defender.

    Hey everyone to there own

    Justin
