LT95 whos cut an access in b/housing ????

    Gday guys

Would like to know if any one has cut an access hole in a LT95 bellhousing to get to things with out having to remove it from the back of the engin im askin this as i have a rattle in there im assumeing is the clutch fork as im geting a viabration througn the pedal on gear change and the thrust race dont sound the best tho its only 12months old ...

12Months ago i had to fit a new bellhousing as the last one cracked around the clutch fork spigot post hole which is drilled into the casting of the housing the last one broke away around the hole were the spigot post mounts and im thinking this one may have done the same thing ....

So its either cut a hole and have a look see or pull the blody motor out once again

A guy I know used to do the hole saw cut as he said the oil pump bolts or something like that came loose and you could do them up with a socket set.

Very unsure of this, hope it helps.

    Cheers

Pull the motor out, before you create a stress fracture point and have to pull it out and replace it anyway. This way you can replace the noisy thrust bearing too.

A hole won't seal well and even if it doesn't weaken & crack the housing, it will get mud or water in and destroy the clutch sooner or later.

*it (laziness) doesn't work, I tried it.

Hello Lokka, I used to own an Isuzu 110 with the LT95 gearbox and I successfully cut an inspection hole in the side of the bell housing to repair a minor problem.Sealed perfectly afterwards with lots of silicone sealer. However when my clutch forks wore their way into the bell housing at the pivot point I had the local garage take out the g/box/transfer case and a local engineer drilled out the worn pivot point and pressed in a new one. Then the box was reinstalled and is still running perfectly for the new owner as far as I know. There is no need to take out the engine to remove the g/box etc.Hope this is helpful.Cheers, 130man.
