A guy I know used to do the hole saw cut as he said the oil pump bolts or something like that came loose and you could do them up with a socket set.
Very unsure of this, hope it helps.
Cheers
Dave.

Pull the motor out, before you create a stress fracture point and have to pull it out and replace it anyway. This way you can replace the noisy thrust bearing too.
A hole won't seal well and even if it doesn't weaken & crack the housing, it will get mud or water in and destroy the clutch sooner or later.
Don't be lazy.*
*it (laziness) doesn't work, I tried it.

Hello Lokka, I used to own an Isuzu 110 with the LT95 gearbox and I successfully cut an inspection hole in the side of the bell housing to repair a minor problem.Sealed perfectly afterwards with lots of silicone sealer. However when my clutch forks wore their way into the bell housing at the pivot point I had the local garage take out the g/box/transfer case and a local engineer drilled out the worn pivot point and pressed in a new one. Then the box was reinstalled and is still running perfectly for the new owner as far as I know. There is no need to take out the engine to remove the g/box etc.Hope this is helpful.Cheers, 130man.
