I went softer springs, and removed the rear helpers, so comparing apples to oganges, but very happy indeed![]()
I have always been told and shown that they are too hard and wear the metal rather than the bush. So you are better of getting softer bushes As they are also harder ride that the normal land rover one or the polybush ones

Just my 2cents I got them on my defender and a year or so later one of the back ones snapped in half because the weld on it was all on one side of the shaft,it wasn't evenly welded on both sides of the eye.I took them back to ironman but they would not replace them because the warranty had expired but you can clearly see they are faulty.Nothing is 100% perfect but I hate it when I get palmed off when something goes wrong and I won't buy them again on priciple. Pat
My exp with Ironman was to do with a winch that I dind't buy from them...they were great!
Suspension wise, from talking to the owners they have been involved in truck suspension for over 20 years and so have a few clues. Reason for getting out of trucks?.... the big boys now replace trucks before they need any major suspnesion work so they changed to the 4wd market.
I have nothing but praise for the advice and dedication these guys have for what they do..... and they cut the 'majors' near in half on price!

I have Ironman springs in my Freelander, and love them. They make 3 grades, one thats simply firmer, one thats firm and lifted, and one thats very firm and very lifted. Mine are yellow and grade 2. They make it handle like a rally car, and give good lift. The only downside is hitting speedbumps at speed now throws the car around a little instead of just lifting a wheel. Apart from that, beautiful offroad.
Cheers!
Steve,
I am reasonably sure that Ironman springs are made by Browns in Thomastown. If this is the case, they make good springs - I have F&R springs from them in my Disco 2a. I know of others who also have these springs and they are happy with them.
Their springs I thinks are all linear and to the best of my knowledge, Browns don't make progressives.
Cheers,
I had IronMan leaves on the old Series II - very stiff, 2 inch lift and no body roll at all. Too stiff and too uncomfortable for the shorty so went the Para way. The quality of the springs was great, just not the right ones for my use.
Looking at the kit for the Freelander... a little lift and a bit more stiffness could be a good thing....

disco steve where are you located,,,i have a few mates with them and they have had no complaints
i have dobinsons and reckon they the best around
My brother has Ironman springs in his Kia Sportage. They were the only guys making a lift kit. Springs work well but the shocks failled on the front. I believe they don't do the shocks for that kit any more. He has Peddar front shocks now and they work real well.
Ironman are cheap compared to other brands, but I suppose they cant be everything.
Just called Iron man for a price $828 with foam cell shocks isnt bad however my money would be better spent LR spings $440and Rancho 9000sx there about the $500 mark
As Ironman spring are A. to hard and B only do a 40mm lift
Im hanging to see the new Ranch 9000xl there huge http://www.rancho.com.au/9000xl.htm
however billies for the end result
