    D110 2002 MY - any thoughts?

    G'day Guys,

I am currently looking at buying a D110 as my touring vehicle - misses says the Rangie is too big and noisey to do "the big trip" in

If I do get one I hope to load it with accessories:

    Warn XD9000i winch
    DWE light bar
DWE chequer plate - Phils the king of bling!!!
    Bearmarch rear wheel carrier
    Traxide battery controller
    Red + Yellow Optimas
Guages - EGT / Revs / Oil Pressure / Volts
    Mudpod
    Intercooler
    etc etc

BUT can I upgrade the ECU on a 2002 MY?

AND what are issues on a 2002 MY Defender?

    THX in advance

A RR is too noisy so you want a Defender?? I love mine, but quiet it is NOT!

Calvin says the vehicle is a UK built D110 and it has Salsbury rear end.

she just remembers driving down to the beach in my old Series vehciles - effectively known as "titty wobblers"

So when she got into the nice TD5 and it was relatively quiet and comfortable

Your not trying to talk me out of another Defender are you?

listening to the roar of your exhaust mark i reckon a defender would be quieter..........but if i was you a would go and fit alot more sound deadning to it anyway, maybe do what phil has done ad spray the lot with that liner stuff
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    Mark,

ECU's on 2002 models can be upgraded. If you get it done with Bruce Davis it will be a chip replacement compared to the 2003 and upwards models that were "flashed on". Not sure what Mike does.

As noted the 2002 model still has the Salisbury rear axle which is arguably stronger than the rover one. I suspect you will maxi it anyway so no big deal.

What the hell is a mudpod? Ipod mounted under the chassis perhaps?

GreyLandy - you sure the 2002's have got a Salisbury? I thought they were back to normal Rover diffs then.
