The ones I snapped were on my RRC, different rims as those I have for sale

I saw a steel rim with a half worn tyre at the tip at Ballina (recycle centre) a week ago, it was the same as the type on my disco 1. but wider, hence the reason why I didn't grab it... would you like me to have a look for you? (no nuts tho....)

I know its probably boring but early Range Rover nuts are not tapered. I just had to have 2 tapered by a mate with a lathe to help get my trailer wheels on.
The locking nuts ARE tapered.Go figgure.

By the way , if you use Rangie mag wheel nuts be careful they do not bottom out, as when they are on an old 3 spoke, they stop about 2-3 MM from the hub, they engage the mag wheel by the washer and shaft sides.
I would recommend the same exxy mag as a second spare, but if you are concerned with weight , the old Rangie 3 spoke+nuts should be a lot cheaper.

The Disco 1's with factory alloys came with only a steel rim as a spare ( cheepskates). They didn't supply different nuts for the steel rim so one can assume you are meant to use the nuts from the alloys. But those nuts defintely have a taper to suit the steel rims ( ie dual purpose design ). If your alloys are third party they may not have a taper.

if you really want ot you can pick up the proper nuts for the steel rims from a LR specialist ( 27mm ) for about $4 each.
