    indicator bulb holder

    Hi Guys
Just had a second go at fixing my doublespeed RH indicators.
Drilled a hole let the water out ant sprayed the bulb contacts with CRC.(RH FRONT)
Worked for a couple of days.
Tried fixing it again, one contact fell out, badly rusted.Unpluged the holder from the loom,a corroded pin in there too.
Besides a D1,any other vehicles have similar bulb holders?????
Heading up to Perth in the morn, was thinking of pick a part.Other than that Rovacraft or similar, dont even want to consider what a new genuine costs!!!!!

Well this is turning out to be a real pain.
Spent over an hour in pick a part, nothing matches. Then spent another 1/2 hour looking for WestCoast Rover(Landy Wreckers)
Decided to bite the bullet and buy a new one, went to RoverTech, was too scared to go to the Stealers.
    A new one cost a whole$5!!!!!!!
    Fitted it,all worked again,FOR 1/2 an hour.NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!!
Put a new globe in,no improvement.
Yet to get the multimeter out.

    YEP HAS SCOTCH CONNECTORS!!!!!
The corrosion on the bulb holder was caused by the indicator filling up with water,it now has a drain to stop that happening.
    The bullbar lights are fine.
The plug on the harness side is the problem I fear,it too is corroded.
Will have another go during the week, that flat out ticking is so annoying!!!!!

when I had the problem with mine started at the bulb holder and worked back the lights that were on the bar were working it was the indicator on the car at fault caused by those scotch connectors cutting through the wire, over the last couple of years have removed these and soldered the wires wraped in self sealing tape to keep the moisture out.

It can be a pain trying to chase a fault like that and you always end up starting at the wrong end

Most erratic indicator problems are caused by bad earths, or bad connections.
