I got the centres moved in as far as he would without reversing...I forget the exact measurement.
I had to trim the rear flares a very small bit, bit no-one has noticed ;)
I'm runnning standard King springs, and Boge OEM shockies, so you prolly wouldn't need to trim the flares with 2" springs.

The original Sunraysia Rim (made by Wheels International, both the brand and company no longer exist) were ten spokers made out of 3/8" plate centres ! A tad thicker than Disco or 130 rims ;)Quote:

Andre, I'm brand new on this forum & already it has answered one of my perennial queries, whether or not Disco wheels can have their back space decreased to give better lock without going to the extreme of reversing the rim?
You've shown that it can be done. Do you mind if I ask, did the hub of the wheel get trimmed to allow this amount of set back, ie the inner flange for want of a better term & do you have any pics showing the inside of the wheel after it was operated on? Disco wheels are easy enough to come by in NZ but I've often felt they didn't contribute much to lock. you seem to have the answer well wrapped up without having to go to the expense of after market wheels. Don't "spose you have a figure for what the new back space is?:)

OK, I measured the backspace.:) I lay a piece of square tube (which was the perfect length) from one side of the rim to the other, on the outermost edge of the rim...right next to the tyre, and measured to a spot halfway between two mounting holes......113mm.
After a rough measurement of the front of the wheels, compared to where I "remember" the centres used to be, it looks like the centres were moved in somewhere between 25 and 30mm.
I don't have any rubbing on the radius arms, and haven't needed to adjust the stops.
I don't think the hub needed to be trimmed...photo's attached.

Many thanks for that Andre, you've answered something for me that our British brethren couldn't. They all seemed to want to reverse the rims, which to my mind was too much of a good thing. Yours look just right to my eye & exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. Soooo, who needs modulars, black, grey or otherwise? :D
