    Spent yesterday putting a spare belt on. A couple of hours figuring how it ran, 15 minutes to run it, another couple of hours to figure out a way of letting the tensioner off.

    Couldn't have done it without some phone calls, thanks Slunnie.

    Anyway, it fires up ok, but theres a death rattle in the top end. Sounds a bit like a big end knocking.

    I can do without this!

    now I find out that the new replacement belt (non genuine) which is marked as the same length is longer!!! fits but slips, Beware

    OK now the belt has stopped squeeling and I can just hear the other squeel from where the front stud has let go on the exhaust manifold. I have the new studs and manilold gasket, are there any tricks or is it reasonably simple to get everthing off and replace?

    Beware to not overtighten any bolts in this game cause if one gets stripped slightly it will loosen eventually and throw the belt.
    Obvious I know, but I've had a major dealer cause me no end of broken belts due to a overzealous mechanic
