    Smile stroking a 3.5 motor

I am thinking of stroking my 3.5 V8 and wonder if anyone can help on locating a crank and rod's and any advice on doing the job? I don't want to change the motor to a 4lt or 4.6 block as i'v heard lot's of negative stuff on the manufacture regards to porosity, I understand that the 3.9 is a strong block like the 3.5..... its for a county and I'm looking for low down toque and realiability so would keep the carby set up i did think about the P76 engine block but it is not a good fit being its just a little longer ............
    any help would be appreciated.

I had a 4.3 (stroked and slightly overbored 3.5) in a County - went very well but was coming due for some work after a decade of abuse on gas (if only I had known when I bought it!) Know owned by Mark2 - he may be able to tell you more than I can.

Apparently kits are available - I'd try Google. They are normally quoted as 4.2 or 4.3l for the 3.5's.

G'day. Have a shot this lot. They're in SA and hava a reasonable stock of gear - in the V8 motorsport section, there's a 4.3 and 4.9 litre stroker kit..

Put a chev in it, dont waste your coin, unless you get hold of a second hand stroker motor complete, you could fit a 350 for the same price and it will have more torque, more horsepower, and be just as reliable.....I even have one on the shed floor spare

Dont wreck the balance of the rover stuffing in a cast iron detroit made lump.

Sure the power is nice but the balance of the vehicle goes up the sh*tter

Best would be to grab a 4.6 bottom end!

Ever put a bullbar and winch on your vehicle??, well if you have, you've screwed the weight distribution up more than a cast iron block

Most critiscism i've heard are usually from those that have never had one themselves

I reckon my 4BD1 weighs a bit more than a small block, and it handles just fine for me.....
