I had my screen replaced/re done 3 times due to the same problem. I had no Idea what the noise was for ages... thought it was the turbo or something. The seal wasn't complete in the bottom L corner. Also- the guy who did it broke the clips for the plastic moulding and used a different rubber seal for the top. Nedless to say- the problem was still there- only noticible above 70km/hr. (Fortunately, this was all under warranty from the dealer I got the car from.)
I was getting sick of having it replaced... and just as I was about to live with this problem...the best/worst thing happened... I had my car serviced at Alto's ($1800 for the 40K plus rear pads/machine...) and I had asked them to replace the plastic moulding under the wipers (under warranty) as it had warped in the sun... (probably from the screen being removed so many times..!).
Someone must have over-tightened the wiper arms, because as I drove out of the dealers there was 3cm crack (that expanded to 2 cracks about 30cm long after 2 days). Nedless to say, I was on the phone and Alto's organised to replace the windscreen. The important part is that they told me it had previously been done incorrectly and that they would fix it all up for me.
Anyway, they did a great job- replaced all the mouldings, clips and rubber. It is now perfect. For once something good came out of someone's mistake!
If you are near-by, get Alto's to do it. They seem to know their stuff in this dept.
