I am a Maxi fan but I will tell you what happened with ARB's in a Prado on Sunday. He couldn't get the things to lock properly to get up my little hill at Ophir. After about half an hour of stuffing around they eventually locked. When considering other replies to this question I would say that ARB's are OK but make sure they are PROPERLY fitted by someone who knows what they are doing or you could end up stuffing around like the Prado.

Actually theres more to it with the Prados..

Their diffs / carrier / axles as so bendy that the housing moves... This is a major problem in the current model Prado.

ARB are working on a solution to it for that vehicle.

I've had my ARB's for 12 years and have had to replace the o-ring in the rear diff once.
They are plenty strong and I still use the standard 24 spline axles.

I have a solution, it comes in the form of a 4L fuel can, petrol & a match.
