Recently had a problem where my D2 Td5 would bog down when taking off with no acceleration and clouds of black smoke blowing out the exhaust.
Seemed to be ok on open roads until i had to slow down or come to a set of lights.
I knew it had to be fuel, turbo related but usure about exactly what.
It got bad enough to the point of needing a tow truck, and after a couple of days in the shop it was discovered that the insides of the intercooler pipe,(the rubber pipes on either end of the main steel pipe), were collapsing internally and cutting of air supply. This isnt noticable from the outside of the pipe at all and unless you were aware of it, you could spend alot of time trying to find the exact problem.
So a couple of hundred later, problem solved.
Hope this helps someone out in the future.
