tough dog springs are made by kings i think?
just go to lovells or dobinsons in QLD
cheers phil
Went into sort out my suspension (Sag) problem still no joy
theyve told me that its the front thats sagged
(even though the right rear has dropped and that by fitting new springs to the front this will raise the rear up(this is what they have suggested)
I waited 5 hours in their workshop while they messed around with my D2
with no result due to the courier breaking down and not being able to deliver my new front springs
Now correct me if I am wrong but if the rear springs have sagged ( I have measured all 4 corners ) fitting new front springs wont solve the problem
I am seriously thinking about fitting Tough Dog Springs all round and forgetting about King Springs as Ive been informed that other vehicles have been fitted with King Springs and have had the same issues
I am no expert when it comes to suspension but I do know this much that by fitting new front springs to a vehicle that has sagged in the rear over a week after fittment isnt going to solve the problem

if the front left has sagged terribly (and I mean as in nearly coil bound or sitting on the bumpstop whatever happens first) then the rear right will be down a little bit and replacing the front will restore the rear....
however the rear will only be down by an inch or so. you can check this quite easly by jacking the chassis at the front left untill it is at its normal ride height if the rear doesnt follow back to its original ride height then the rear springs are also shot.

Like disco white said go for either the lovels or the dobbins the lovels are just as good but a bit cheaper and theres plenty of different sizes and rates available i did a 3in lift on a mates rangie with the lovels and its great good ride and plenty of flex its a good combo for on /off road
i had lovells in my disco and most of my road cars and 1 race car( only by shear luck) and have never had any issues at all with them.
i had les rich springs in the 90 front and rear but the fronts dropped a coil on the left and there was too much parming off by coopers to worrie about. so ive now got dobbinsons springs in the back, custom made to my specs. for $250 a pair with 3yr warrenty thats bloody good.
the fronts are the old rears (les rich) wich WILL be replaced soon.
cheers phil
i never said that!Hold on a minute I though that Les Richmonds springs where the ducks guts of all spring![]()
they have been good for ages but latley i know of a few sets that have been replaced, and have had andrew richmond tell me there was a batch (how many in a batch??) that was no good!
cheers phil
When I bought mine Andrew noted the possibility of damage to the springs if they are mishandled (dropped) in transit.
Perhaps he had a run with a careless freight co at some stage or possibly that's the story he was given by the spring manufacturer (Browns?).
Sorry I didnt mean you stated that they where no good i thought that the genral feeling on the forum was that they where the best lucky for me I havent bought mine as yet I might give lovells a ago in that case i have had them in high performance cars and they performed excellent on open track days at eastern creek
