    Light upgrade kit

Fitted Drivesafes lighting upgrade kit today. Fairly easy install. Used the vacant area under the drivers side front guard. Noticed farly dramatic improvement in light quality. Recommend highly and good value.
    Some pics of set up.

slightly OT, but your vent cut outs on your checker plate are a hell of a lot neater than the one's I bought years ago.

gives full alternator voltage to the headlights, unlike the stock setup where you get significant volatge drop through the stock cabling and switches.
14/14.5 volts vs 12/12.5 volts = much brighter headlights.

Also with a Defender the lighting circuit doe's not have a relay standard so with a lot of use the headlight switch actually melts. Had this happen to me at night and they are not cheap to replace. Also this set up means you have one light per relay as they are dual fused relays. So if you have a relay failure you will only lose one light. More efficient lighting with less voltage drop. I would say lights are at least 20% brighter. Well worth the cost. Not an eaxpensive upgrade at all.

Now you can do what I did and fit IPF Fatboy globes and try and work out why your spotties aren't as bright as high beam

I fitted mine on the left side next to the water bottle. Contemplated what you did but decided the left side was easier. Also after talking with Tim, decided to paint the relay with Lanotec to cut down on corrosion of the fuses.

Just curious, why 2 relays, I assume the other is for the spotties
