I think your on the right track...
But if after checking your pads and rotors for tolerance/runout/play everything comes within tolerance Eyeball the sensors (you may need to remove the rotors to do this) and make sure that they are clean of any debri and are tight in their mounts.
After this if all is good check the wiring. Before you put it all back together clean the rotors with a good brake cleaner and give the pads a good sanding with some fine wet and dry to remove any surface glazing, a little chamfer sanded into the leading edge will help.
as your assembling make sure thers isnt excessive play in the caliper pins and that they move freely with out any slop or jerking and before installing the pads give the back of them a coat with some antisqueel compound.
