I find i always get better mileage from BP than any other servo...For me Shell seems to be the worst
Ran out of fuel this morning.
With the LR tank the fuel light comes on with approx 30L left. Used to be I would assume empty at 300km after the light came on, and often took it to high 200s which I realise now was not good practice. The other time I have run it dry there was 240km on the trip meter but I had been towing so not really too surprising.
Since then I have aimed to fill up around the 200km mark, sometimes reaching 220 or so before finding a servo. I have almost always used BP.
The other day I put in some diesel from Gull, wasn't anywhere near a BP and when I ran out today the trip meter was on 185km which is far lower than usual. Could this be due to the fuel?![]()

Gull is often BioBlend....
And yes, its Cetane rating is lower than BP so you get less bang for your buck...
I think I know what has happened Tony.
Your new tyres, they are wider so will use a bit more fuel to push, also are they taller than stock,as that takes more push to keep em turning?BlackBetty is a tad overgeared now,but Im never in too much of a hurry.
Mine are around10% taller, wich means Ive traveled 10% further than indicated on the odometer. You need to factor that into your calculations!!!!
