    Tdi Exhaust Manifold

Decided to get off my lazy *** and work on my Rovers...

While tinkering around under the bonnet of my 110 i noticed the rear exhaust manifold stud is gone.

Has anyone else had one of these go walk about?
Is it a common thing on a 300tdi?

It does happen - it has snapped, not fallen off. I used a HT m8 normal thread bolt to replace it and the other studs. Replacing the LR standard bolts on the top manifold (and the gasket whilst you're there) at the same time seemed like a good idea. The good news was that the end of the stud in the block wound out easy. If you haven't e-z-outs, try a hobby engraver with a cutting disk, ( in the Disco I have space to work - the Def might be a bit crowded) or a chisel to put a slot in the remainder of the stud ( it protrudes about 2mm) and wind it out with a screwdriver.
