My usual answer when working on a vehicle if asked,"what you doing" is "Playing Hop-Scotch in a Minefield" silence is the usual reply, with the question asker walking away with a strange expression.

I learned that one from the "Management", when I first met her, she's from Liverpool UK and that was a common answer over there that she picked up from her father and other relliesI have used it for years and get some strange looks of puzzlement
