    Question Roof Lining 300TDi

    Hi everyone,

Apologies for not being on the site since March, I have been busy but that's no excuse.

What I'm asking is does anyone know of a good reliable upholsterer or where I can get hold of a new (or good second hand) roof lining for my 1996 300TDi. The present one is losing its' grip and is sagging in places as well as looking grubby compared to the rest of the interior.

I'm in the Illawarra area but wouldn't mind travelling to the Sydney region.

Thanks everyone and I'll be there on Sunday at the Expo on the 22nd.

    Cheers,

    Disco User.

Most decent upholstery shops could do it. I had mine done in Perth $175.00 drive in drive out.

the roof lining, headlining, is a cloth applied to a foam backing which is glued to the headlining shell, which is a sort of cardboard material, to recover the headlining, you or your chosen repairer just removes the assembly and recovers it, same thing as in a dunnydore or falcon.
any motor trimmer can do it, as said above, shouldn't cost much over 200, but that depends on hourly rates.
a good shop that has seen a disco should get the headlining out in an hour , remove the rubbish and apply the new stuff in the next hour and refit in the next hour or so, but don't quote me on that.
if i was to do it it would take me the whole day.
you don't get much for 200 these days.
