There is a member of LROCV running 15" on a Discovery 2 with great success.
Aftermarket wheels for a Holden Crewman will fit and are rated for the weight. Taken further perhaps the factory steelies of the Crewman could work too. And could be really cheap!
I just looked it up and the base model Ute and Crewman come with 15x7 steelies. Iiiiinterestink, veeeeeeery iiiiiiinterestink.

very interesting!...so just to recap....If I find some good mags that would suit a common crewman, I'll be able to fit them to my beautiful D2?....what about the offset?....also at the beginning of the thread there was a warning on spacing??

and I am now looking around for some 235/60/ 16's so I can get a more agressive/chunkier off road tyre without having to lift or cut
Just to let you know that the 235/60/16 is only a 27inch tyre, max size that you can go down in Qld is 26mm, also a 27 inch tyre may not have the same size load rating as a 29" RR are rated at a 102 minimum standard is 109 load rating
