Resurrecting this old thread. I just ordered 4 ECU pins with wire from Futuranet and have to find a suitable switch setup. Will check out Jaycar. Total should be less that $40 for a working cruise control I hope.
BTW, anyone needing new door switches: Jaycar has them for $7.50 a set of two.

hi.
I am installing cruise control in my Defender td5 from 2002.
And I can't get it to work.
I have ECU NNN000120 in my car.
and from what I understand after reading here I have to program (update) the ECU to get the cruise control working.
It now doesn't respond after installing the connectors and cables.
How do I update it?
does it have to be done at an authorized Landrover workshop?
or can engine optimizers do it?
best regards Roger
I have the LR unit. You don't have to touch the ecu, just make sure you get the right wires. I think mine is the later ECU though.
Tip is they are great but not super great if you know what I mean. I'm glad I've got it but in hilly terrain it's probably better to drive manually.
