Alarm Unit Location and Alarm Spider Reference
Glad to hear it's all fixed, Taff. Just in case the problem comes back (as intermittant problems are fond of doing), your alarm controller is most likely above your passenger's left foot - remove the black panel from beneath the glove box and you'll see a small green box tucked up high near the kick panel on the door pillar - it's on a frame which sort of hinges down.
The other possible culprit is the "Alarm Spider" located in the centre console below the radio. It's an interface between the alarm controller and the rest of the vehicle electrics - essentially an imobiliser. It's prone to giving problems due to dry joints on its printed circuit board and it requires a major effort to get to it. There are detailed instructions on accessing it and repairing it at http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php'showtopic=86 . (I'm surpised this thread has come so far without someone-else referring to this). There is a bypass connector available but if you're reasonably competent with a small soldering iron, or know someone who is, it's a pretty simple job to find and resolder the dodgy joints - far simpler than getting to the little beggar.
Hopefully you you've beaten the fault into submission already and you won't need this info - file it away for next time.
Brad's post implies that your Disco has had a "moisture ingress" event - where are the photos?
