2021 Mazda BT50 or is that DMax?
That is a Toro overdrive.
They are MUCH better than a fairey.
Ah, thats what I was hoping! It seems a much more robust unit that the fairey (I have a spare in the shed).
Where do parts come from though? If I understand correctly, these are no longer made?
You've made my day![]()
three ribs = toro
fwd motors at yeronga used to be the guys but i believe they sold all their gear to someone up north
i spent a bucket load of time trying to source parts and leads to parts and manuals without much success.
i have two of them as well... not that either is getting any usage at the moment...

i dont have conclusive proof but it appears to be at least 50% urban myth from my limited experience...
they look similar but i am sure all the parts are not interchangeable, they would have to be at least 30% different to avoid legal issues i would think.

How so, Inc? Santana have a track record of purchasing designs and then modifying them - from the Series 3 to the leafsprung Suzuki Sierra. I would have thought that licensing the Fairey design and then improving it would have been right up their alley.

you answered your own question i thought... :P
depends on what the license allowed but generally 30% was the going rate to avoid complications..
like i said i couldn't find enough info to get determinative proof....
and i haven't had the need to disassemble one of mine to compare it with a fairey so all i have is the bits and pieces of info i found.
