    Defender windscreen onto Series?

Has anyone ever seen a defender windscreen fitted to a series LR? Looks like it should be a simple enough modification, but would not be surprised to find that there is some basic reason why it cannot be done.

Yeah, from memory the windscreen is taller and the 110 roof is different to accomodate this.

You might find the cost of a Defender/110 roof and windscreen frame is more than you want to spend on a Series!

For what its worth, the Series frame is much stronger in a rollover being steel versus brittle cast alloy

I had a mate that removed the centre bit out of the series windscreen , and had a bit of laminated glass or similar made up to fit the hole
I dont under stand why you would do this as the only purpose it would serve is for looks

Was that hard to do? I wouldn't mind doing that to my Series to clean up the look a bit.

i can attest to the strength of the series frame. i had a low speed rollover in my stage 1 and i climbed out and walked away (the rover only suffered panel damage, a broken wing mirror, and a bent rim as a result.

Do you own a angle grinder
Any glass place could get a laminated screen made to your measurments

Cool. Thanks for this Rangieman. I think I have a spare windscreen laying around somewhere to try this on a little later.

IMHO its more than looks, being several inches taller the 110 screen is a lot easier to see out of, you dont feel like you're bending your neck and peering out from underneath the roof .........
