    Isuzu:No Oil Pressure Light

    Hi All,
Just seemed to notice today I have no oil pressure light. Replaced the bulb, all other in the light cluster have power, well cant find multi to run good test.Shouldn't the light be on if bad earth, broken wire etc all the time.Where is the sensor on an Isuzu had a good look and can't seem to find it, and where does the wire run.

    cheers

it runs to the back right hand side of the block (off the filter mounting block right off the top. the one on the engine block is for the reverse lights), in the event of a bad earth they dont light up at all... to test it just take the lead off and short it to earth somewhere convenient while someone watches the light on the dash.

theres 3 different ways of wiring it up 2 are direct and 1 is via a relay that ties in to automatically shut down the engine if the oil pressure drops.

Ok...anyone know anything about the wiring on the oil pressure switch....took the old switch out new one in...still no dash light....bitch of a job too...hard up against everything....oh, I have no idea on auto trickery therefore can't make heads or tails of the schematic in supplement....
There is power at the switch end yet still no dash light...i will take the fascia off in morning and check power to light...all the rest have power and i have put in a new bulb. The previous owner had problems with ign switch at some stage and has put in a push start button. Still need to turn key.Might have something to do with it. Thinking I might be better of running wires straight to a new gauge like in the 2A.Would any type of gauge do the trick.

    cheers

you could try touching the two wires that go onto the sensor together - this should result in the light being lit - of course you need an assistant though (I tested mine that way)... new sensor from Isuzu trucks cost under $30, or $100+ from fwd's!!

    Gday Echidna,

I will have a look at that in the morning.I ended up getting one at a good discount from MR on a gen isuzu, saved about $40, so happy about that.I rang Isuzu parts here and basically the bloke was hopeless and said go to MR.
