Are you after a low k's 200 Tdi?
I knew this day would come. While trying to rebuild a 200tdi for a mate after the tosser got water into it, I needed to find a head for it. None available from any of the usual suspects and none from any dealers. Yeah he was retty stuck to say he went to a main stealer.
Anyone with a 200tdi still running, dont get water in or the pretty easy repair could spell the end for your engine if the heads gets damaged badly. I dont know anyone who has heads now.
As much as I like that engine, its time to move onto 300tdi's for the next major project. Those bloody 300tdi's will warp a head faster than a priest after a school boy. Am I allowed say that here?
Keeping em cooled is the key to long life so their owners tell me. I only ever built em and not ever driven or owned one. The early models had short life on cam belts due to an LR **** up, misalignment in the pulleys.
New heads still abound for 300tdi's and average 370 ish sterling for a full assembly.
The 300tdi disco has now reached the end of life for most owners are the rust bug is biting hard. It means plenty surplus engines from donor discos and R380 gearboxes to suit. I rarely see any cheap defenders come up.

I'm pretty sure MR Automotive had a brand new one on the shelf last time I was there.![]()
2005 Defender 110
Surely there must be a UK company that manufactures them? You'd think that someone would have bought the original dies (or whatever) and do a short run now and again. There must be 1,000's of 200tdi's still running around the world.
Don't know of any, so not very helpful eh?
The only manufacturing in the UK associated with 200tdi heads are of the exchange variety. I dont know what became of the moulds but at a guess it would be a costly business to get into.
Its a real shame, the engine is a real solid performer and I dislike having to change in the near future.
Hymie, No point in me looking at your low K's landie mate. Its on the wrong side of the planet for me mate
Any enterprising fellow would do well to put them on ebay now, prices on any available will go for big bucks.

Not from this part of the world mate, shipping would be nuts.
Hey Emerald - when you get a sec put your location in your profile so everyone can see where you're from. (Should we guess - Ireland?)
