    tyres/rims

About to put new shoes on the 110.Has the standard 16 x 7 steel rims.I'm getting different stories from the tyre dealers(unusual....).Have one who reckons Bridgestone duelers 285/75 16 will fit OK, couple of others say I need 7.5 inch rims to handle that size tyre....anyone tried it ??Any advice appreciated....I'm tossing up between coopers, bridgestones and BFG's in A/T, again, any thoughts between the three?? (My off road work is mostly sand.)

Do you have steel wheels? If so, the standard rims aren't 16x7. I think 130s were 16x6", 110s were 16x5.5???

However - that aside, I have a set of 16x7 disco steels with 285/75-16 MTRs fitted. The tyre dealers are correct, 7.5" wide is the minimum legal width for that size, but nevertheless, it works fine (for me).

Hey, that's interesting re the rims on my 110...I bought it with 20k on the clock and those rims came with it but as an extreme I always thought it should have had alloys on..anyway, good to hear the 285's are OK on your 7's...I want to go as big as I can so 285's ...yep, just for the look!...the tyre outlets tell me the rims are 7's...

Hi Geoff, you are correct - the Xtreme does have the 7" alloys, not the 5.5" steels the "normal" Defender has fitted.
