    Cat Converter

    Has any one found a cat converter on a td5 2002 defender ?

    yes they have 5, usually only 4 are functional at one time.

    used correctly they convert cats from 3 dimensional mammals to 2 dimensional road kill

    That is not the ansewer I was looking for its the stuipid Catalic converter in the exuhest that was stopping the turbo from spinning when it was spose to and I think it was the cause of 3 mamafolds warping from all the heat

    My 2001 doesn't have one. It's not required. What year did they start installing them.

    I don't believe the diesel defenders have a cat converter.

    I did a quick google search and only petrol engines were listed.

    Manifold warping is common on TD5's. Try a search on this site and as there is heaps of info.

    I might be wrong and am willing to learn more.

    Have heard of a cat on the diesel but is not required so cut it out and make it road kill

    ok seriously (do i have to theres sooo many cat jokes to be done)

    TD5s dont have a cat on a deefer, the emission control on them is good enough without one to meet the required legislation so its left off cause its cheaper not to put it in.
