As for your CV's Im impressed that was a torqey front wheel hit gripping again after a bounce wasnt it..it exploded one and sheared the other..well done.
If you have the money give the Ashcrofts ago and you can be my crash test dummie for them..I carry a spare CV in my drive kit as Im expecting the worst as I enjoy my 4wheeling aswell.
Last thing your Nick.. change it to "rovercare-Less" about breaking it
Awww Dawg... Dont encoourage the lad!

I've been driving hard for years and yet to blow the CVs and stock front end in Lara.....

Rev Limiters and Tracks = Damage.....

Finesse is the key..... The throttle is not a Binary switch

More fun driving ALL day, then recovering half the day....

    (all tongue in cheek...)

I don't own a 50k defender but although your more than welcome to come across and drive some tracks, i'll even put on the beer See how long your driveline lasts finesse doesn't always get you to the top

The only time I cracked a CV (it was a lengthways crack on the housing) was yahooing about in mud. I got thrown out of a set of ruts and landed in a paralel set and thought I might bust the door open as I landed so hard. There was an almighty crack, could have been worse I guess. I drove with it for a month until the budget could cover it.

You and Walker go to the same offroad driving school?

Love to take up the offer! Will let you know when I'm heading your way!

Interesting thread. I hear so much about weak LR drivetrains that I am in constant fear of breaking it for no good reason. It's good to see people can make them last if driven with some sympathy.

I agree with the county CV opinion. They are simply not worth the the huge amount the go for in Australia.

I bent mine in Cape York and I know a few mates have broken theirs.

Went Ashcrofts heavy duty and no damage to mine or friends so far in a year.
