G'day All
Now I know what colour Princes Fiona is painted I need to do a couple of little repairs.
I need to take the clamps off the windscreen and sicaflex the joint up so it doesn't leak. While I'm at it I need to rub down the clamp on the passenger side as it is pretty badly corroded on one side and last night I noticed its (the corrosion) is starting to get into the window frame as well.
My questions are as follows;
Cheers
- Can I get the paint in a pressure pak
- What are the window frames made of? (steel or cast ali)
- What are the clamps made of?
Hi Stevo
Contact a few automotive paint suppliers, some do make up pressure packs to your colour, you should only need the Landrover colour name/code.If they dont do them they should be able to tell you who does.
Some Supercrap stores do it too.

1.No, Not available unfortunately, But as Andrew has said some outlets can make them for u. (570)
2.If u are talking about the Front "windscreen" i would of thought Cast (I could be wrong as i dont own one) from memory. But the window frames for the doors are Aluminium.
3.Cast as well.

I got some paint made up in a spray pack at a Auto Pro . Not sure if they all do it or just certain outlets but it's easy enough to get done![]()
Just out of curiosity, how come the damn thing weighs in at 2.3 T if all that is aliminium?. The tray is steel and about 300Kg. The canopy is about 200Kg.Buggered if I know.
I have wondered the same thing .... I'm guessing they mixed lead and aluminium at the factory just so when you hit someone they stayed hit![]()
Most of the mass in a 110/Defender/90/Series is in the chassis, suspension, axles, wheels, transmission and engine. The body is a relatively small proportion, although the wagons get heavier, mainly because of the glass and all the fittings. This is why they are so hard to roll, because most of the mass is down low, although this can change with a load, particularly when it is on the roof rack!

The Series III utes in Army form are supposed to be about 1500kg dry. The County wagon I had was supposed to be 1800kg dry.
With 500kg of tray and canopyyou are still rating a bit above what I'd expect the ute to be dry so I'd guess the extra weight is in your fuel tank
