Thread: disco window winders

When I took my door trims off to fix my central locking I am pretty sure that there were manual window winder cut outs in the door trim.

I'm thinking you would be able to order the bits from the UK.

Having said that I would doubt I would be able to get my hand between my leg and the door in order to wind the window up and down.
I think I remember thinking how close it must be to the speaker grill too.

Whatever you do, don't fit genuine Disco winders.
They take about 20 turns to lift/lower the window !!

When the Disco was released here, that was a major complaint by the road testers .

Do not despair, just do a search on window fixes and faults, if the scissor arm welds are broken they can be fixed or replaced, if the guides are worn they can be fixed, If both fronts have broken make noise etc, you can replace both of them for under $350 and about half an hours work. ( check out the recommended suppliers, their prices are real good)
I think getting a new scissor arm is a far cheaper option than getting a winder mechanism then cutting holes in door trim to fit it.

I have replaced both of mine and they are fine.

slide inside the track about 40mm long shaped like a T with a hole in middle to take the pin from the cross arms
