You wont go wrong with BFG's, I use mine on road, through fields and wooded areas. Never had any problems and I dont go through real deep muddy tracks. I am usually hauling a trailer and dont want to get up to its tits in muck followed by me up to mine trying to free it out

Ive had 3 sets of BFG AT's and had no real problems. But I changed to Cooper STT's and found them better. Noisier but better. Not really a good comparison, one being AT, the other MT. But that's the way I went. The BFG AT aqua planed in the wet, don't clear mud well and picked up small stones in the tread. I think its time they up dated the tread pattern, it must be 30 years old now. I also think they should be abit cheaper, after being on the market so long.
I'm now looking at Cooper ST, STT and Mickey Thompson's

So where do those of you in Brissie buy your tyres? I just rang Fourbies, they quoted me $261 - is this a good price for BFG AT's?

The AT KO has a different pattern to the old AT. It came out about 7? years ago.
Main change was from a round shoulder to a square shoulder, which is a mixed blessing- better traction , worse cornering, and IMHO worse sand performance.

The centre pattern has been proven. Why change for the sake of change.

I was told last time I bought about 5 years ago ,that only BFG dealers (BFG is owned by Michelin) can get the best price.
My local guy sent me to the nearest BFG dealer.
So if fourbies is a BFG dealer its OK. I paid about that for 245.75x16 at Owen Tyres Brookvale.

I got my 215/75R15s for $195ea, from a Jax/quickfit outlet. Obviously the larger tyre will be more costly.

all RAAFies with brains take along a spanner from tac vehicles (IE me) to jax in ipswich as johno (my boss) drives a racecar sponsered by them and we get a good discount...

If you havent already got em I'll ring and get you a price.

Dave, Ipswich is a bit out of the way for me, but if you could get a price that would be great - might be worth the trip
