Hi
I just got a tyre pressure monitor and in the wiring diagram it has these wires for power:
red : 12v dc
black: ground
orange:ACC (ignition)
I know the red & black but is it OK to connect the ACC to the +12v through a switch instead of to the ignition?
I that pretty much the same?

Why do you want a switch used instead of ignition?
it was just to test the monitor, ( which only works on 2 tyres) before I started hacking at the ignition.
Only reason for running one wire from ACC is so there is no power drain when the ignition is off. For testing purposes you don't even need a switch and even for permanent installation the only problem with a separate switch is the possibility of forgetting it and running the battery flat.

Ahhh I never thought of power drain.
I just don't really like messing around too much with the ignition as I don't know which wires are for what, (yet).
The ACC is the accessories feed, not ignition. It feeds the radio and stuff like that.

When you decide to pull out the dash looking for an accessories wire set it up with a junction box or multipul outlets, so when and if you need another accessory feed wire it is plain and simple. Dont forget to fuse though.
Thanks
