Security code for Key Access on D2

I was very happy to discover that the security code for Key Access (to disable alarm/immobiliser in event of key fob failure) that i got when i bought the Disco is not the right one.
Luckily i decided to go out to the shed and try it out on the off chance i may need to use it one day miles from civilization.
So my question is this.....has anyone else had this problem? How does one go about finding out what your vehicles security code is?
    Thanks in advance
    Phill

I was lucky .Was ln nomans land when key fob died.only had email acess a t odd times and no phone so sent a email to customer service with vin etc and asked for security code to get doors open.RESULT>>>>so this is a security problem and we dont have RADIO codes. After being locked out for seven days a local wandered in and after a couple ofbeers door was open and we could pack up and get on our way.I now wait with baited breath for the next email from LR telling me how good the new vehs are and their top service.

This is RIDICULOUS! I have had two Defenders BOTH with the wrong security code written in the manual. Once it was actually the Stereo security code (written in the wrong spot) and the second time it was just the wrong code all together. The dealer just said that this often happens with no real explanation. What the F$*& do we pay "dealer delivery" for?

If I remember rightly, when you stuff up the code three times it immobilises the vehicle for 30 minutes. You can get around it though by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes - at least that's how I managed to get around it.

As far as i can tell, what i thought was the secrity code is in fact the key code oh well, you can't expect everything to go right!!
