    D2 3 warning lights on?

    Hi All,

My father-in-law is here at the moment and he has the three lights coming on every now (about once a week)and then on his D2 TD5, but it resets itself after restarting.

Lights are trac control, abs & Hill decent etc.

Is it the oil in harness issue or could it be something else?

Its done 71k, Trev is here now and he is taking it to be looked at this week, so any info would be great thanks.......

Ive heard of this stuff but I have a D1a,so really didnt take much notice etc

Yes I did do a search but we got heaps of info and dont have time to wade through it all......

Its definitely a brake problem, not an oil-in-the-loom problem. It can be a problem with a wheel sensor or with the ABS modulator. I have the same symptoms and its either a sticking shuttle valve or shuttle valve switch in the modulator. Mine goes away for quite some time if the brakes gets used a lot, eg down a twisty mountain road. When mine starts occurring too frequently I just use the brakes harder than usual and it stops happening.

Ok thanks for that. Trev is a bit happier now, so when the Local tech cant find an issue after he has cleared any faults,he will know to tell them about the whole abs thing so trev wont be charged for them trying to find a fault or standing round scratching there heads etc

Andrew .. do a quick search here on ABS lights - you'll see it's a very common DII issue.. can be ABS sensors ( Fault or even dirty), can be modulator.

I've found dirty break fluid makes it worse....he manufactureres of the modulator recommend fluid changes twice as often as LR do.

I even had a loose nut on the modulator mounting.... that allowed it to move around - after I tightened it my issues got better for a while.

    Cheers
