I just run Narva 90/100's, lately with Drivesafes loom also and they are an excellent light.
Having just fitted one of Drivesafe's loom upgrades to the Defender, I'm after some slight better globes to finish the job. What are people running and what do they think of them vs the standard ones for the increased cost?
From a search I only found reference to the Fat Boys (Whatever they are!), the IPF's and Narvas. Anyone running the Philips or something different?
Being H4, I'm not looking to do HID yet, as the ones I like for high/low beam are more than I want to pay.

Mine has 90/120. They were in there when I got it so they have stayed.
I've measured the difference between 80/100W H4 globes in the main headlight and Philips +50 55/60W a while ago. There was hardly any difference.
The other night I was replacing one of my Hella Rally 1000 pencil beams a spread beam I decided to measure the difference between the standard 100W globes and the H2 Philips +30 55W.
I used my Minolta Light meter, and with engine idling there is absolutely no difference between original Hella 100w globes and the Philips +30 H2.
Why generate more heat when you can get the same amount of light from more modern technology globes.
Hi Jeff
Get the ones I got, very good except on dark, when they are no better than normal.
Saw them on Ebay again the other day, will look and send you the info.
Cheap for good imported Narva west Germany. Not the cheap stuff you see in Malz etc.

OK, looking like the +50's are the way to go in std 60/55w. A quick look on 4x4store.com.au shows the Narvas at $34/pair and Philips at $45/pair, so not much in it and worth a test for that price, I think.

I am running Phillips Diamond Vision (Blue at 5000K) H4's in a direct wired loom and at $140.00 pair worth every penny. Crystal Visions 4300 K white are a bit cheaper and just as good.
Jeff
