    removing centre seat.

OK from looking at it if I want to remove the centre seat in my Defender ute...

    1. Remove the seat base (easy!)
    2. Undo 4 bolts to remove the frame, of which the seat back is an integral part.

That should do it ! My question is - when I remove the 4 bolts from above, are there nuts underneath that are likely to fall away, or is there some alternative arrangement (eg captive nuts etc) ?

    Much obliged.

    Vlad
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Hi Vlad, I removed the centre seat in my 130 last year and I recall there were rectangular plates beneath the seat box that the mounting bolts threaded in to.One fell off but the others were stuck on with some sort of sealant.I built my own locker box customised to my left arm height for comfy long distance driving.Cheers, 130man.

The TD5 has plates that are stuck with sealant. 3 of mine will fall of when being undone.

the seat should bolt to captured nut plates that are attached to the underside of seat box with a single pop rivet.
