td5 fuel useage on the canning stock route

    hi everyone

i am heading off the canning stock next year and i am planning how i am going to carry everything.

i was hoping that someone had done the csr in a td5 disco mannaul and would be able to give their fuel usage for the trip and any other points about td5 out there that might help.

    regards
    keith

I haven't been on the csr although we crossed it. If it's like the rig road in the simpson I'd guess 12-15 range

The fuel usage varies. The CSR changes all the time. I used to travel it for work and it was never the same twice.
Dependant on driving conditions the TD5 can vary alot. I found the cooler the temp the better she will go.
Give the owner at Capricorn Roadhouse Sth of Newman a call. They used to do the fuel drops. You used to be able to order in 220lt and 60 lt drums.
I believe fuel is now available at Well 33 Community.
