Hi guys
Im wondering if any one knows the bush diameter of the shocks on a D2
I thought the bush reduced to 16mm and then had a crush tube that further reduced down to 12mm for 12mm mounting bolts.

I've just checked. They're 12mm.

No, thats a different measurement.
Out of interest the shocks below are (L-R) Bilstein 6100 with a Rose Joint mount, Rancho 9000 with Polyurethane bush and steel crush tube, Factory LR shock with rubber mount w/ cast in steel crush tube.
If you look at the Rancho with the Red bush, the outside diameter of the bush is whatever suits that shock, and the inside diameter is 16mm. The steel crushtube has an outside diameter of 16mm and an inside diameter of 12mm. The bolt that goes through the crushtube is 12mm. This will be the same type of setup that you'll have with the Bilstein unless you go to the 6100.
So, the hole in the bush is 16mm and the hole in the crushtube is 12mm. Just get them to give you the bushes and bar pins that they use for the D2 shock assuming they fit into the shock that you buy.

Reason why ask is that if I buy the desired shock from the states for example the 5100 there like $100 each Aus and for the same price as standard shocks here I can get 7100 if they fit, already have the half inch hein ends 12mm and can be revalved at no extra cost $220 each if this works it beat $1300

Sorry ROVERNIT and fellow Aulroians, a prime example of missinformation on my part, best not to post until you are 100% sure so as to avoid confusion
I should know better, so apologies again and looks like Slunnie has nailed this one
